The brief

Rather than replacing a solid but dated kitchen, the owners asked for the units to be refinished and the surrounding walls re-coloured to suit the sea light coming off the front.

The challenge

Cabinet doors carried a factory lacquer that needed full de-glossing and an adhesion primer to survive daily family use. Work was staged so the family kept a usable kitchen every evening.

The result

A hardwearing hand-laid eggshell finish on every door and frame, with two-tone slate walls that hold their depth in bright coastal daylight.
